The short version
The CopyThat application collects nothing. No account, no sign-in, no telemetry, no analytics, no cloud. Once a day it asks copythatnow.com whether a newer version exists, sending only its own version number; Help → Check for updates automatically switches that off. Nothing else ever leaves the app. Your captures, artwork, embroidery files, and settings live only on your own computer. The only personal information we ever hold about you comes from buying the product or emailing us.
1. What the app does — and does not — collect
- Captures, images, embroidery files, OCR text, annotations, and settings are stored only on your PC, in folders you control.
- The app sends no usage data, telemetry, or analytics to anyone.
- Crash logs, if any, are written only to your own disk (
%LOCALAPPDATA%\CopyThat\logs) and are never transmitted. If you choose to email us a log for support, that is your action. - Once a day the app asks copythatnow.com whether a newer version exists, sending only its own version number (Help → Check for updates automatically switches that off; Help → Check for updates… does it by hand). That is one ordinary web request to our version page; like any web request it exposes your IP address to the server, and we do not log or use it to identify you.
- OCR, embroidery rendering, vectorizing, and every other feature run locally. Nothing you capture is uploaded anywhere by CopyThat.
2. Information we receive when you buy
Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, LLC. They handle your payment details under their own terms and privacy policy; we never see your card number. From a purchase we receive your name, email address, and order details, which we use to deliver your license, provide support, and meet our legal obligations (for example tax records).
3. Email
We send transactional email about your purchase and license. We send product news only if you opted in, and every such email has an unsubscribe link that works. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
4. The website
Our website is hosted on [Netlify]. Standard hosting logs (IP address, pages requested) exist at the hosting layer. [State truthfully at launch whether any analytics are used; if none: "We run no advertising trackers on the site."]
5. How long we keep things
Order and license records are kept as long as needed to support your license and satisfy legal requirements. Support emails are kept as long as useful for helping you.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold so little, requests are usually simple: email feedback@copythatnow.com and we will act on verified requests within the time the law requires. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA.
7. Children
CopyThat is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will be noted on the website.
